PDMQuery Help
Updated 07.19
Purpose:
PDMQuery is a web application for accessing Toro part and publications information. It searches and retrieves product drawings/documents indirectly from Windchill PDMLink via Product Data Syndication Server (PDSS). As of early 2019, part & pub info formerly contained in Documentum has been migrated to PDSS, and is accessible through PDMQuery.
Access:
Users are granted access via Tech Connect request. Once access is granted, they are automatically logged on with their network ID and password
Usage:
Quick Search Enter a valid Toro part number, and if found, the latest version of the matching PDF will be opened for download in a new tab. CV links will be appended to the PDF when applicable, linking access to the advanced part information page.
Advanced Search Advanced search uses a unique combination of criteria to locate part and pub information. These criteria are entered in their own labeled fields, and are treated uniquely dependent on what other criteria is entered. There are a few easy steps to follow to ensure returned data is accurate and what you expect.
Note- this system is not designed for use as an exploratory tool, part information such as Name, Number etc. should be known by the user beforehand
1. Wildcards:
a. Accepted wildcards (* or %) may be used in the Number, Name or Project Number fields in lieu of a character or characters that is indeterminate. They may be used on the beginning (e.g. *001), end (e.g. 100*), or in lieu of a part or project number (*)
b. A single character wildcard (*, %, or _) may be used in the Number, Name or Project Number fields if a single character is unknown (e.g. TestPa_t)
c. Multiple Wildcards in one part number will not return accurate results (e.g. *00*, Tes_Par*)
d. Wildcards in multiple fields at once will not return accurate results (e.g. Number = 100*, Name = *wheel)
2. File Types: Available file types for downloads will be indicated by pdf, edz, or zip links under the Download Links section. CV links will be appended to the PDF when applicable, linking access to the advanced part information page.
3. Project Number Descriptions: May be accessed by clicking on a parts Project Number value, the tool tip will then be set to the SAP description for the given project number
4. Thumbnails: Thumbnail images will be displayed for the parts if they exist, and will expand when hovered over
Multiple part Numbers may be entered simultaneously, separated either by commas, spaces, or returns, and all entered parts will be subject to the other entered criteria
